Mission:
To introduce kids to what it takes to create and build a business
and provide them with a safe community and the tools they
need to make that business successful.
Business Description:
The site will become a destination for kids between the ages
of 5 through 50 who want to learn, explore and share –
to discover their “voice” - as they build a business.
The site features
include, but are not limited to:
• Online marketplace where kids can easily start a secure
online store to buy and sell to each other and the general
public.
• Filtered Internet search by subject, topic, school
curriculum or location that supports building a business at
an individual’s level.
• Editor capabilities that allow kids to become editors
of their chosen subject. Any kid in the world will be able
to hand select and list sites they feel are useful to other
kids.
• School specific pages; customized to each school that
signs up featuring content that is updated daily with information
pushed by Kids 4 Kids.
• Kids business center with tools, calendar, information
and a business forum to teach kids the fundamentals of starting
and growing a business.
• Bi-monthly essay contests with a prize that encourages
kids to excel in effective business writing.
• Advisory committee comprised of leading educators
and kids so as to ensure that the site continues to grow educationally
and satisfy its mission.
• “Missing link” search feature. If they
can’t find it on our site we point them to a site they
might find it on.
• Custom site toolbar with links to every page of the
site that users can download and install onto their internet
explorer browser
• Custom interactive banners that promote the site.
Other sites may add a banner to their pages that will add
thousands of links back to our site.
Competition:
There are very few other internet sites like this that base
their services for kids. One site we would consider to be
competitive in this field for kids is: http://yahooligans.yahoo.com
– This site is the only one that comes even close to
our services. The largest difference between us and the Yahoo
site is that we encourage student, school or parent participation.
Unlike Yahoo, our minimal level of company structure allows
us to readily scale the websites platform, structure and size
to meet the need of users and information. This site would
also be used as a home schooling tool for families concerned
about the quality of local education.
Audience:
Target, kids 5 to 15 worldwide. Our intention of allowing
kids and schools to wholly participate within the site itself
is the avenue by which we target schools and through the school,
target the kids. Kids will then form committees for the marketing,
the store system, the management, etc. Kids will form the
future business make-up of ideas, methods, and platforms to
their liking for the site after its opening under executive
and parental guidance. Object: If we have the audience of
the world’s schools we will easily source companies
such as playstation, Xbox, Hasbro, GT Bicycles, etc to advertise.
