Just
about any student in the world under the
age of 18 is eligible to open an online
store at this site. There are qualifications
such as teacher and parental permissions,
stipulations such as the type of product(2)
you can sell and fees involved after the
sale that are required. Here are a few
of the rules.
No adult sellers will be approved.
All
products for sale must be approved
by the student store committee.
An
official Kids 4 Kids escrow account
is used for all transactions.
All
eligible students must retain a quarterly
GPA to be decided upon at a later
date, verified by their teacher/counselor
or parent.
- What type
of products can I sell?
You
can sell just about anything. Baseball cards, software,
services, etc. As long as the items
you sell are appropriate, moral and
can also be sold and bought by someone
under the age of 18 we have no problem.
Step out of those bounds and your
store will be shut off. In the near
future we will have select products
to choose from to stock your store
with. These products can be drop shipped
directly to your customers. Look for
these products soon!
- What is an
escrow account?
An
escrow account - Escrow \Es"crow\,
n. [OF. escroe, escroue, a roll
of writings, bond. See Scroll.]
(Law) A deed, bond, or other written
engagement, delivered to a third
person, to be held by him till some
act is done or some condition is
performed, and then to be by him
delivered to the grantee - What
escrow means in Kids 4 Kids terms
is someone purchases a product from
your store. The purchase money goes
into a special Kids 4 Kids account
and is held there until the purchaser
receives his or her product. Once
the purchaser receives the product
the seller will be issued a check
for the amount of the sale minus
10%. The reason behind the 10% fee
is we are charged 3% for the transaction.
The other part of the fee is for
administration, upkeep and storage
for the storefront system.
- How can I
promote my store?
We
have constructed an online store promotion
section into each store. This section
gives you tips and pre-made email content,
banners and other promotional material.
All of these marketing tools are coded
to generate traffic directly back to your
store. Once you sign up for a store you
will receive monthly if not weekly newsletters
from the student store committee that
will explain how you go about promoting
your site. There are many ways to promote
a web page and store on the internet, to
your friends and to your neighbors. We
will show you the best possible
way to approach this, but first you have
to open a store!
- What features
do the online stores have?
Within
the first few months of opening the
site we will have about 5 template storefronts
to choose from, using different color
schemes. They also allow for a custom
logo and messages. There is tutorial
information within the store to help
you understand the system in detail.
Our storefront system is easy to learn and use. Here are a few features
of our system:
You
can have as many pages within the
system as you need, based on each
pages product.
You
don't need to resize your pictures.
You
don't pay any up front fees, monthly
fees, hosting fees or webmaster fees.
The
system is fast, uptime is usually
99.9% and bulletproof!
